Introduction
This appreciation site is dedicated to the beautiful and talented actress Linda Hayden.
|
Linda was born 19 January 1953 in Stanmore, Middlesex. She trained at the famous Aida Foster Stage School where she regularly attended drama, dancing and singing classes in addition to her academic schooling. Her big break came at 15 with "Baby Love". She is married to theatre producer Paul Elliot and has two children (a girl and a boy). |

Why now you ask - when Linda's film career was mostly in the Seventies? To cut a long story short, I was 19 when I saw Linda in "Confessions of a Window Cleaner" and I "fell in love". I then went off and did what most guys do - meet a girl - fall in love - get married - have a family - separate ....etc....etc....etc. During this time Linda's film, stage and TV career was at it's peak - and I missed it! Then about two months ago Channel 5 broadcast the "Confessions" series and it rekindled thoughts about Linda's film career? First stop was the Internet Movie Database where I obtained a copy of Linda's filmography. Next step was to buy the films. Not so easy - only ONE movie with Linda in the starring role is available to buy in the UK (The Hammer Classic - "Taste the Blood of Dracula"). All others with the exception of "The Boys from Brazil" are out of print! The next two months involved, quite literally, a global hunt for Linda's movies and with the help of Blackstar.co.uk (Video Hunt Service), Amazon.com and their z shop memorabilia stores, Videoflicks.com (Canada) and all the friendly people who trade at ebay.com/co.uk, I finally managed to complete my library. Acknowledgments go to Paul Durkan - help with the filmography, Tim Greaves - permission to use scanned images (and little bits of text!) from his fantastic1-Shot publication - check out Tim's VAMPYRES novelisation on Amazon, Greg Turnbull - images from his Hammer site (sadly, no longer online) and approval to use Veronica Carlson's beautiful (copyrighted) sketch. Special thanks go to Jonathan Sothcott www.jonathansothcott.co.uk - for kind permission to reproduce images from his own personal collection and a lot more. Without these contributions this site could not have been published. Finally, a thank you to the lovely lady herself. Linda may not have won any little gold statuettes called "Oscar", but after reviewing her films I can confirm that, apart from looking drop dead gorgeous, when Scriptwriters/Directors have given Linda the material to work with, she has shown her talent and acting skills to the full.
